It was sad to see that the "blue park" needed to be closed for this project, but its better to be safe than sorry.

Reducing pollution in our lakes
Press Release
The only thing I don't understand it why they could not harvest the Rye in the late spring prior to planing?
This is a good step in the right direction to finding ways to reduce run-off into the lake systems. Thank you Dane County Board.

Beer Baron: Too many great tastes to fit into one Great Taste event
Beer Baron: Too many great tastes to fit into one Great Taste event
This was again a great event. I hope others were able to attend. I wonder if something on a small scale like this would work...having only home-brewers share their creations from the area. Thoughts?

Great Dane starts bottling specialty beers
Madison.com
It is great to see that the Great Dane is moving into the market to bottle some high gravity beers! The Bomber series is going to catch on here in Madison and throughout WI.
What is a Bomber?
In USA large bottles are 22 U.S. fl oz (650.6 ml; 22.9 imp fl oz) (colloquially called a "rocket" or "bomber" ); the European standard large bottle is 750-millilitre (25.4 U.S. fl oz; 26.4 imp fl oz) (in South Africa and Canada referred to as a "quart").
But as you can see from this link the cost is very high!
The best way to enjoy great beer at a good cost is to learn to make your own beer. We have a club here in Monona (the Monona Mashers) and a large club in Madison (Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild link to their site)...by the way, the best event is happening this weekend in Madsion - the Great Taste of the Midwest
Brew on!

Monona Doug Blog done...
Here is a link to his last blog post Click here (mononadoug.blogspot.com).
Doug's blog has been a place for all of us in Monona to check out what was happening with city issues, book reviews and so much more. I will truly miss his blog. There is no way "Life in Monona" will ever be as comprehensive as his blog. I hope to post items of interest and make some things easily available to folks regarding my Life in Monona (and anything else I find interesting).
Thanks again Doug!
